…stands for Great Literature Alive, Well, Playing In Greeneville, Tennessee. This program started as a Greeneville City School Program with 45 students in grades 3-12 to promote reading in the schools. Since then it has grown to include all students of Greene County. The group meets weekly for 1-1/2 hours to share literature and learn presentation techniques. Members present workshops in area schools each year. GLAWPIGT has performed for TAC Arts Academy, The National Council of the Arts in Washington D.C., the Tennessee Board of Education, countless schools, churches, and civic groups throughout East Tennessee.
