It is the mission of Tusculum University Arts Outreach to provide cultural leadership by supporting arts programs already in place, developing new programs, and encouraging the public in supporting the arts and arts education.

Arts Outreach has a decades’ long tradition of excellence for arts advocacy in the Greene County region. We promote community engagement with the arts through programs like Great Literature Alive & Well Playing in Greeneville, Tennessee (GLAWPIGT), which teaches young people literacy and communication skills through theatrical practice.

We also offer our services in area public and private schools, where we customize workshops based on individualized need. A few workshops we’ve offered recently include acting, costuming, set construction, set design, and speech making.

We recently launched a bachelor’s in Arts Outreach Administration to mobilize decades of Tusculum’s excellent reputation in Arts Outreach programming. The degree is a mix of arts and business classes and chock full of experiential learning opportunities. The program prepares students to be imaginative entrepreneurs and leaders in cultural community development and is ideal for students who are passionate about culture and who seek a fulfilling career that enriches the lives of others.
